A few months ago, I saw Kellye Howard perform at the all-female live comedy show “The Kates on Broadway” and recognized her star power. Kellye has been featured on Comedy Central, TBS, NBC, FOX, WGN, and many other media outlets. She’s also been featured on 'Last Comic Standing' and Fox 'Laughs'.
Having more than a than a decade in comedy and entertainment, Kellye’s voice has come into her own and shows no signs of slowing down. Here are ten reasons why she is a Woman We Love.
She's overcome statistics and no longer needs to hit men up for cash to fund her lifestyle. She’s happily married with two teenage daughters and enjoys her husband’s health benefits.
Her fashion sense is killer. Goodbye tropical Skittle package. Hello fabulous!
She's an early tech adapter. While she may not be consistent on social media, she’s willing to try new things like performing stand-up comedy on Periscope.
She allows us to laugh at her pain. In her one-woman show ‘"UNmarried, The Naked Truth." she takes the audience on an emotionally hilarious roller coaster through the life of a newly married 30 some-thing wrestling to balance career goals, family plans, and depression from a recent unfathomable death of a loved one.
She allows us to learn from her mistakes. Episodes of her weekly podcast ‘Living with Regrets with Kellye Howard' is available on Soundcloud and iTunes. Her Co-host Phil White is hilarious and thoughtful.
Although she has a packed schedule, Kelley is approachable and willing to collaborate – provided you are serious and organized.
She's rough around the edges (reppin’ Harvey, IL), but very compassionate. While her (now deceased) daughter was in the ICU, she was able to look beyond her pain and provide a younger mother with guidance and comfort.
Her hair is edgy, fun, and always changing. Secret to Kellye hair is revealed.
Having a ‘ghetto’ E at the end of her name, wasn’t enough to keep her from embracing suburban Kelly (no E). Suburban Kelly loves hummus, drives a prius, and channels her anger through regular meditation.
Kellye is a triple threat: Writer, artistic speaker, and stand-up comedian. Thot Anthem showcases her growing rapper/singer talents.
